We all face such a tough time over the next few weeks and months to fight this nasty COVID-19 virus that has sprung into our lives and none more in the economy than small businesses who will take a huge hit as our country locks down. As a micro business myself, I am well aware of the challenges we face as business owners in these uncertain times so I thought it would be nice pop a little post together and share 5 of my favourite Yorkshire stores with you - who you can support online until their charming bricks and mortar stores reopen!
These wonderful eco-aware shops offer a range of products from gorgeous scandi childrenswear to ranges of seeds, pulses and nuts! And just like Plewsy, they are Yorkshire and proud.
1. Acorn & Pip
A concept store offering the best sustainable, organic and design-led clothes, toys and nursery products for the coolest babies! Truly independently owned and operated in Slaithwaite.
Harrogate's gorgeous designer Scandinavian inspired store can be found at 17 Cold Bath Road. Founded in 2016 by Sally, Bias has a beautiful collection of womenswear, menswear and homewares.
3. Small Stuff
A design-led, ethical and eco-friendly children's store based in Sheffield. By hand picking all of the products and working closely with small independent suppliers from around the world, Small Stuff can guarantee everyone is paid fairly and well and each product is made with love, is sustainable and with less planet polluting processes.
4. Fair Trader
Established in 2009, Fair Trader is a volunteer-run co-operative in beautiful Holmfirth, West Yorkshire. We aim to reduce world poverty by promoting fair and ethical trading.
Northallerton's Zero Waste Shop. Bring your own containers for refills ditch pointless plastic & minimise waste to save our planet. Founded in 2019 this beautiful shop has been so well received in our hometown.
